What is your body shape?

by laarni (Calamba) Posted on 02/21/2012 11:31 am

Each of us has a unique body shape. We may have resemble a particular shape be it an apple, a pear, or the number 8 or 1, but we are uniquely shape according to our genes and lifestyle. I resemble a pear-shape body and my problem area is my heavy bottom. It's difficult for me to fit into a non-stretchable pants. It fits into my hips and butt, but not with my waist. It's too wide for my waist. However, I still appreciate it since not everyone has a defined hips and butt like what I have, I just wish it's well distributed proportionally to my chest or my sole to gain inches for added height =p. How about you? What's your problem area? How are you loving it at the same time?

my shape is the last one "number 8", though I gain inches in my waist line my hips also gain the equal inches so my hips is always 10 inches larger than my waist, ever since highschool. ;) but my arms are always big but firm. : :^> my legs are big and firm too. :((

Hmm, I think I have to retract my earlier post. I am more of an inverted triangle, not one of those in the picture. I have broad shoulders, and I get narrower.

My shape is round.

Kidding, I'm a pear, with fluffy upper arms and thighs. It's more evident because everywhere else (face, forearms, legs esp my ankles) it shows that I'm small-boned. My face is actually the last part to gain weight so when people look at my photos then see my frame, they think my head belongs on someone else's body. Bummer.

But what I like about being a pear is my waist-to-hip ratio. Even if I gain weight, I like the fact that my curves are there to stay, and people respond to it favorably as well.

@ Trina: TRX is fine! I think body weight exercises are generally good for toning. Don't forget to also pair it up with some cardio every now and then to also trim the fat. Basketball is a good combo because there's also some running and jumping involved.
And don't forget, you can always let the team and me know if you have any more concerns. :-q

@victoriacastillo Yes, glad to be finally here as well. Thank you for your assistance by the way! :) I do dumbbell rows and a bit of push-ups as well. Last weekend, I used TRX for my arm workout since I got to workout in a gym again (after almost a year of not being able to.) :P Might try shooting hoops at Timezone or Tom's world to aid with my arms. Haha. :p

@ Trina: Hi! Nice to see you finally here. =)
What kind of arm exercises do you do? For me, I've found that push-ups (combined with basketball, of course) and playing basketball (even just repetitive shooting) helped with my arms.

My problem area is my arms. They are definitely huge and I have to cover them up every so often -- or risk looking BIG. >.< I've tried doing exercised to tone my arms. But it just adds muscle to it. I have very muscular+flabby arms to date. I don't know what I should do. :^>
