Milk tea or frozen yogurt?

by laarni (Calamba) Posted on 04/04/2012 9:23 am

Hello everyone!

What's more fun and yummy treat to cool down under the heat of summer than milk teas and frozen yogurts.

I like both and I enjoy having it than any other desserts.

How about you? Are you a fan also? What do you usually order?
What's the sweetness level by the way?

:)

I like wintermelon milk tea, but depending on where you buy it, it can get too sweet. So I usually ask for 25%-50% sweetness, OR split one serving with my husband, who also likes it and needs the calories more than I do. Heheh. >:)

I prefer drinking lots of cold water during hot days. That's all.

@joycefaith: 25% is fine, but it's also best to take it without pearls/sinkers. Have as one of your 2 "cheats" for the week. :)

@ AiDenBoks: If you will add sago, 1/2 cup (120 grams) cooked sago = 1/2 cup rice. Just adjust your meal plan accordingly. :-q

That's my dairy for the day but since I feel guilty about the sugar, I still cut back in my carbs on the next meal. O:-)

But if you say it's just dairy that I substitute for these drinks-except the wintermelon because they contain the sago/pearls, Yehey!!! :-q

@AiDenBoks: Good modifications on the wintermelon milk tea and starbucks green tea frappe, though you should substitute your dairy with these drinks, not your rice.

I love wintermelon milk tea with pearl sinkers, I ordered the medium sized one with just 25% sugar and removed the 1/2 c rice in my next meal. ;)

I asked the Starbucks barista to have just one pump of syrup (they usually put in 3) in my green tea frap (grande only not the venti), no whipped cream on top and replace the full cream milk with soymilk. Then I cut half c of rice in my next meal. ;)
