@September22: I'm a pasta-lover too and I assure you, it's okay to consume them, so long as we stay with the proper portions and substitutions. ;)

Thanks for this info. I thought I am kissing my lasagna and baked mac goodbye.

Hi TracyCG,

Yes! You can definitely substitute your rice to pasta or noodles. The 1/2 cup of cooked brown rice is equivalent to 1 cup bihon, macaroni, sotanghon, spaghetti, or 1 cup cooked pasta, or 1 cup cooked noodles. Here are other substitutes for rice:

breakfast cereal - 1/2 cup
whole wheat cereal - 1/2 cup
cooked rolled oats -1/2 cup
sweet potato - 1/2 cup
cassava - 1 cup
gabi - 1 cup
potato - 1 1/3 cups
slice bread, white - 2 slices
pan de sal - 3 pcs small (45 g)
whole wheat bread - 2 slices (45 g)

To know more on the suggested substitutes and quantity for food items of other food items, please refer to the List of Food Equivalences under Tools>Bonus. It contains the quantity of food item per portion. :)
