Alternative Medicine

by gisaparedes (Quezon City) Posted on 09/11/2012 10:37 am

I've been a patient of Acupuncture for years now to help alleviate all kinds of problems - stress, insomnia, a broken foot, you name it! Sometimes when Western medicine doesn't seem to have enough answers for me, I look to alternative medicine to help me.

Have you tried forms of alternative medicine? What has worked for you? And how? :)

@Magenta317 There is one in Jose Abad Santos in San Juan. The name is Tong Ren Tang. The doctor is from Beijing. But it is a bit expensive. Although you can have the package of 12 sessions for 10k. The consultation is free if you have the accupuncture session. Consultation on your health totally. But from my experience, accupuncture does not work one time only. Should take more than one session. Hope this info can help. :)

hi Tulip_99!

Honestly, the needles feel like ant bites. They don't feel like the ones at the hospital. They're a lot thinner (like a strand of hair) and initially of course you feel it pierce through your skin, but after that, there is no pain felt. :) If there are certain areas that need extra attention, then your body may react differently. I believe that there are some clinics in QC that provide Acupuncture. In Ateneo, the center for chinese studies may have someone there as well.

I want to try acupuncture to relieve my stress and insomnia . My question is, is it painful? Can you recommend a good acupuncturist?

Hi Magenta317, I know a few acupuncturists. Perhaps we can PM about it instead? :) What kind of knee problems are you experiencing?

I'm interested but i haven't tried it before. I've been experiencing knee problems for the past few months and was wondering if acupuncture can cure it. Where can you go for this kind of treatment? Any place around Makati area?
