June 10 Batch, our Independence Day newbies, welcome to the Bon Appétit Diet!

My name is Charmaine, and I am your Online Dietitian and Community Manager. I'm here, together with the BelleToday Dietitian Team, to help you be successful on your weight loss goals and get you engaged to the community as well.

This forum thread is for everyone starting the program today. It's where you can introduce yourself, meet new friends in the diet, and to support one another in trying times.

To succeed and reach your goals, I want you to follow the steps below. It only takes 5 minutes of your day to make a lifetime improvement for your well-being.

1. Read your session for the day and watch the video of the coach

2. Ask a question to the team of dietitians (click on "Tools" in the left column, and then "Personal Questions")

3. Take the time to refer to your shopping list and meal plans.

1. Starting on Wednesday: it shouldn't be a problem :)
2. Just be careful when you modify a recipe, just don't use high-calorie ingredients other than the prescribed amount in the recipes: cheese, butter, oil, etc. The cooking method should also matter; frying shouldn't be an option (or only occasional). If you're modifying spices or seasonings, or if you're choosing to add more vegetables (except for potatoes), it shouldn't be a problem.
3. Snacking: Refer to your meal plan for the snack and just reserve (or eat it ahead) during the afternoon. For example, if you're supposed to have a yogurt and fruit for lunch, you don't have to eat it at lunch, but you can have it for your afternoon snack instead.
If you choose to have a sandwich, make the adjustments according to the list of food equivalences. You might have to do a few adjustments; for example, just having 1/2 cup of rice for dinner, etc.
If you need any more help on this, you can simply ask our friendly dietitians through the Personal Questions tool; they are better versed in nutrition than I am. :) But I'd be happy to help you in any way I can!

Hi Victoria, thanks for your reply. Per advice through chat with Jana, I started the program last Wednesday and followed the Wednesday session, thereby, i missed the meal plans for Monday and Tuesday. Is this okay? Or how will it affect the program? Is it okay also to modify a recipe or the cooking procedure but with the same ingredients? I also need to take a snack especially at late afternoons, can i have sandwich for snacks or what do you suggest?

Hi, good morning! i was supposed to start the program on monday, june 10, however i havent been able to complete my grocery for my meal plan for the week. I want to start it tomorrow , june 12 which is a wednesday, will that be okay? I may just have to adjust the calendar by converting wednesday into a monday so as to coincide with your program schedule which as i understand, always starts on a monday..
