Just started last Monday though I tried the diet using the free 1 week meal plan before I committed myself to BAD. I'm excited and I'm not hungry. That's the bonus

@ klunagonzales: Welcome, and good luck! No worries with the substitutes...specially when it comes to vegetables. You can't go wrong with vegetables, and as a general rule, it's a good idea to use vegetables of the same color, which is why your suggestion of spinach for kamote tops is right on the money. :D

Hi, everyone! I am excited to try BAD because unlike the other diets I've checked, this diet does not make you starving - in fact, it's quite the opposite!

However, my main challenge is to find all the ingredients listed in the meal plan. I'm currently living in Saudi Arabia and I'm having a little difficulty trying shopping for the ingredients in the supermarket. Will there be any substantial difference if I look for alternatives which are available over here (like spinach for kamote tops, etc)? Thank you so much! :)

@mtmc: Welcome! Time to get used to eating breakfast from now on. If you feel the breakfast options in your meals are heavy, you can make it light and just save some food items as an afternoon snack. I hope to hear more from your experience in your weight loss journey :)

Hi, you can address me as mtmc. Just took my first meal of my first week menu. Felt full :-S though since I am not use to eating breakfast during weekdays. But I know I am on the right track and will follow the menu given to me. I am looking forward to sharing my thoughts, achievements, frustrations to those people who understand the challenges we'll be encountering in having that healthy lifestyle. Till then, let's enjoy the journey together.

Welcome, kjperalta! The most recommended way to tackle those you mentioned is to apply the Bon Appétit Diet in those instances. Not saying you have to follow the meal plan strictly at those meals, but you can make smart substitutions. :) Head to the Bonus page under Tools to see some tips! The Structure for Custom Meal Plans and the Bon Appétit Diet at Restaurants will be especially helpful.

BUT if you somehow enjoy yourself a little too much, it's OK! Try to limit those instances to no more than 2x a week, and when it happens, get back on track immediately. You don't have to skip your next meal (and it is actually discouraged), but eat smartly.

Your dietitian Charmaine can help you on that with the Personal Questions tool...and if you have a smartphone, you can take pictures of your meals on the Bon Appétit Diet app and have them assessed by her too. :)

Hi, just reviewed the meal plan for next week. Will there be allowances for meals with friends, parties and other events. Just wondering. Thanks! Excited to start.
