Any healthy supermarket products you'd like to recommend to your fellow Bon Appétit Diet members? :)

I'll start with Lily's peanut butter! I don't like Nutella or cookie butter as much as peanut butter! And while I occasionally enjoy US brands like Peter Pan, Skippy, etc, I still think the best peanut butter is our very own Lily's! There are no hydrogenated oils or high fructose corn syrup, unlike in US brands...it's just cane sugar, peanuts, and salt! It's OK to mix the oil that gets separated at the top, just as long as you don't eat more than 1 tablespoon per meal. :)

Also, Town 82K Wheat Biscuits (Natural Black). These babies have oatmeal, wheat, and edible bamboo charcoal mixed in them so it's good for adding fiber and helping with elimination. They're a little on the dry side and not too sweet like your standard biscuit. The package says that one serving is 4 pcs, but it comes in packs of 3, which is already plenty for a quick and handy snack, especially if you're in transit.

One box (5 packs of 3 biscuits) is only P52.00.

@Victoria: Gardenburger sounds intriguing; will look for it at Rustans and Shopwise. :)

Another product I've discovered is Zoya soy powder. It's basically dehydrated soybeans ground into a fine powder, which you can add to plain water, any drink, or even your food to increase your protein and fiber intake. Just 2 tbsps is already good for one serving. It has no pervasive smell or taste, just a slightly powdery smell and fibrous texture.

So far, it's working for me. And at P93.00 a box, it's reasonably priced. I found it at Daily Supermarket, P. Tuazon cor. 20th Avenue, Project 4, QC.

They've been around forever! I think I've had their Veg-G-Burger, but I didn't mind it so much. I tried the imported Gardenburger just for the heck of trying it, and it tastes and feels like a chicken patty, it's actually pretty scary. :P

I'm not a big fan of peanut butter per se, but I like the taste of Lily's as well. Brings me back to childhood days where we used to slather it over freshly-baked pan de sal in the morning. :)

Country Foods' Ve-g-Tapa is nice and tasty. But stay away from the sausage kasi sasama lang ang loob niyo. :((

What's a good brand for low-fat butter? Is Dari Creme lite ok? JMC recommends margarine over butter. But i read somewhere that butter is healthier because it's more natural. To the dieticians, what's the real score?

Just want to show this Hersheys 100% cocoa powder i discovered. Its 10 kcal per 1 tbsp! Fat is only 0.5g like other nonfat product! 😃? 1 tbsp is enough for a great chocolate drink with nonfat milk, stevia w/ or w/o pinch of salt and 1/4 tsp vanilla. We can also use it for champorado, etc with NO guilt of too much calorie and at the same time enjoying its chocolately taste.

@ AiDenBoks: Thanks a lot for the info! I agree with stevia's metallic aftertaste. To reduce the bitter aftertaste, drink water along with the juice or drink the juice while having your meals.
